A standard dental implant is a titanium post positioned into the jawbone (maxilla and/ormandible) that provides effective support for perfectly restored permanent orremovable replacement teeth. Our clinic is among the first in Poland to use a biphasic zirconia dental implant, the most significant breakthrough in modern implantology. Never before have patients’ aesthetic demands and expectations been more accurately met.

At present there is a whole range of surgical techniques and a multitude of implant types available. Hence, dental implants can be placed in nearly all candidates. Absolute contraindications to dental implants include active inflammatory disease or neoplastic disease within the head and neck. I would like to emphasize very strongly that a history of effective cancer treatment does not make a patient ineligible for implant placement. 

Firstly – when they are missing a single tooth. An implant is an ideal solution allowing the best aesthetic (appearance)and functional (speech, eating) effects. It also allows easier access between teeth and hence improves oral hygiene. Contrary to conventional bridges, there is no need for reshaping the adjacent teeth that will anchor the bridge. When considering implant placement, please, remember not to take a hasty decision to remove natural but irreparably damaged tooth. A weakened tooth or its root should be extracted immediately before implant placement and by the same surgeon.

Secondly – when the anatomical structure of the patient’s oral cavity precludes successful use of dentures due to instability. Implant-retained dentures clip, snap or hook onto the implants and are therefore effectively held in place.

Absolutely not. Correctly performed dental implant surgery is, so to say, a comfortable procedure – minimally invasive and non-distressing.

Implant surgery demands a high level of surgical experience and ability to care for such patients. The truth is that some dentists who undertake such treatment do not have appropriate qualifications and skills. Unfortunately, this issue still remains unregulated in Poland.

To provide professional implant services, a dentist should be a specialist in maxillofacial or dental surgery and have certificates from the world’s leading implant centers. In other words – they should be able to perform all implant-related surgical procedures. You cannot consider yourself an implantologist when, after one workshop, you are able to perform basic surgery only. A patient must be fully informed about all treatment options – not only the one that the doctor is capable of conducting.

I have performed approximately 3,000 dental implantations and I cannot imagine undertaking such treatment without careful consideration of each individual case and a long talk with the patient - all this in order to become fully acquainted with their expectations regarding a full-arch of functional, beautiful teeth.

Modern day implants are manufactured of titanium or zirconia, ie., materials that are safe for human immune system. Healing and osseointegration can get complicated due to poor blood supply to a particular bone segment or an infection. It should be remembered though that - if this should happen, a new implant is placed with no charge to the patient. The success rate reaches 97.5%, which is a satisfactory result.

Implants are not affected by caries or parodontosis. If an implant is correctly placed and the patient adheres to dental hygiene recommendations, it will last for a long time.
